He looks at her while she tries to read the Recipe. He forgot that this was difficult because it was a lot to take in when you don’t know what you are doing at first. “Sorry, I’m so used to this that I read it fast. Do you want me to read it again piece by piece?”

“…Yeah, that’d be a good idea.” She groaned and thrust the recipe back at him. “…Maybe I should read it to you…unless you want me to blow the kitchen up and cover it with a foot of flour again. This stuff is not coming out of this skirt…”

He notices that she turned the Nob down quite a bit. There was the first problem that went wrong and probably the Main one.
“Alright then. We Need 2 cups of white sugar, 1 3/4 cups of all-purpose flour, 3/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda, 1 teaspoon salt, 2 eggs, 1 cup milk, 1/2 cup vegetable oil, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 1 cup boiling water. Did you get all of that?”

“…What?! How am I supposed to remember all of that?” Kanonno takes the recipe from him, bringing it up to her face to read past the smears of chocolate on it. “Two cups of white sugar…and one cup along with three or four extra cups of all-purpose flour…”

He smiles and nods. “Yeah. Okay Is the Oven Preheated to 350 Degrees?”
“Um…” Wiser not to say she had set it on 530 by accident, from her cooking attempt earlier. She quickly lowers the temperature.

“Alright, what’s next?”

He laughs a bit to himself. “Alright then. Do we have all the Necessary Tools?”
Kanonno runs around collecting the utensils from various locations, scrubbing them clean in the sink before tossing them one by one next to the boy.

“There you go. Are we all set?”

“I don’t mind. It’s for a Friend after all.” He takes the recipe back from her and Reads it. “Do we still have enough Ingredients for the cake?”

Kanonno snorted. “I’m sure we can scavenge whatever we don’t have from around here…somewhere. You better start…I don’t have a clue what to do.”

“H-Hold on, I think I can still save it.” He starts to clean off the Recipe. After some time he was able to save most of it some of it was still dirty. “Okay, I got it… Mostly.”

“Is it even worth it? Maybe I should just buy a cake.” Kanonno takes the recipe from him anyway, shaking it out. “You willing to sacrifice the cleanliness of your clothes and possibly your sanity? Working with me in the kitchen is like working with a bomb…everything’s going to blow up in our faces.”

“Oh… I see.” He bent down and started to dig for the Recipe only to find it a few minutes later, completely dirty. “I think this is it…”

“Oh jeez just forget it.” Kanonno sits down with a sigh.

“I’m the personal guard of…. a religious figure, I guess you could say. Best description I can give.”

“Whoa that sounds important. But I guess if you don’t have to guard this person, that person is safe, so that’s…good?” Kanonno isn’t very religious herself, but still.
